JOB TITLE: Satellite Systems I&T Engineer, Space Networking Solutions The Satellite Systems I&T Engineer joins the Amazon Leo for Government Engineering team to develop complex satellite systems for targeted government and international customers. Working within the Systems Engineering, Integration, Test, and Manufacturing organization, you will design, build, and validate test systems for the satellite bus, RF payloads, optical payloads, and custom ground or user terminals. Your daily work involves developing test procedures, software, scripts, and APIs to enable verification at various product levels, including SoC calibration and environmental testing. You will utilize Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux platforms to create test algorithms and automation. This role solves technical challenges in space and terrestrial communications by ensuring seamless, high-speed connectivity through the integration and validation of advanced Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation components.

What you'll do

Lead system integration and test efforts for satellite buses, RF payloads, optical payloads, and ground terminals.
Develop end-to-end integration and test plans to validate performance against customer and partner requirements.
Create test algorithms, scripts, and calibration routines for lab and field evaluations of integrated satellite subsystems.
Architect and validate mechanical, optical, and electrical support equipment to enable test execution and requirements verification.
Analyze system test data to provide proactive feedback on product performance and potential improvements to stakeholders.
Manage and track test anomalies, defects, and bugs to closure while performing root-cause analysis in production environments.
Prepare technical reports documenting test coverage, results, and key performance indicator metrics for developers and managers.

What we're looking for

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
5+ years of experience in space vehicle, bus, RF payload, or optical payload integration and test.
5+ years of experience developing space or communication system test requirements, plans, and procedures.
4+ years of experience developing code in Matlab, LabVIEW, Python, Docker, and Rust on Linux platforms.
Experience testing satellite communications payloads, optical communications payloads, spacecraft buses, or space vehicle subsystems.
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
