JOB TITLE: Observability Architect The Observability Architect defines how the organization understands the health, performance, and reliability of its technology environment. You will establish a unified observability strategy across cloud, infrastructure, applications, networks, security, and business-critical services. Your daily responsibilities include defining enterprise architecture, tools, roadmaps, and governance models while integrating monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities across diverse platforms. You will use Amazon CloudWatch, Cribl, Splunk, APM, and AI technologies to connect fragmented telemetry into actionable insights and design automated root cause investigations. Key tasks involve routing and enriching telemetry, improving operational visibility, and creating reusable patterns for dashboards and service-health views. You will partner with cross-functional teams to design observability into systems from the beginning and mentor engineers to build skills for operating reliable, observable services.

What you'll do

  • Define the enterprise observability architecture, tools, roadmap, standards, and governance model.
  • Integrate monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting capabilities across diverse platforms.
  • Use Cribl to route, enrich, filter, and control telemetry before it reaches downstream platforms.
  • Improve Splunk and CloudWatch implementations for operational visibility, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Create reusable patterns for dashboards, alerts, service-health views, and telemetry onboarding.
  • Reduce alert fatigue by improving signal quality, ownership, prioritization, and escalation.
  • Design automated root cause investigations using AI technologies.
  • Mentor engineers to build skills needed to operate reliable and observable services.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or CyberSecurity.
  • Ten years of experience in IT infrastructure.
  • Five years of experience with cloud technologies.
  • Three years of experience with observability.
  • Three years of experience with AI tools.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined by U.S. Export Control laws.
  • Proven ability to design observability strategies covering logs, metrics, traces, and alerts across hybrid environments (preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience with Amazon CloudWatch, Splunk, and Cribl (preferred).
