Technology Engineering Associate Director, Observability and Event Management

What you'll do

• Own the enterprise observability strategy for logs, metrics, traces, events, and digital experience monitoring.
• Lead the engineering and architecture of modern telemetry pipelines using OpenTelemetry and distributed tracing.
• Manage the technology for event detection, correlation, noise reduction, and automated response.
• Implement AIOps capabilities to improve signal-to-noise ratios and accelerate root-cause identification.
• Drive automation-first approaches for alerting, remediation, and event routing across all platforms.
• Lead tool selection, roadmap planning, and vendor management for observability and event platforms.
• Manage and develop a team of engineers through coaching, performance management, and capacity prioritization.
• Partner with cloud engineering teams to embed monitoring coverage into new and existing services.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, or Business Administration with 9 years’ experience.
• Master’s Degree with 8 years’ experience.
• PhD with 4 years’ experience.
• Deep expertise in observability/monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Dynatrace, Grafana, or SolarWinds.
• Strong understanding of OpenTelemetry, distributed tracing, and telemetry standards.
• Hands-on experience with event correlation, AIOps, and automation frameworks.
• Demonstrated proficiency in ITIL Event Management, Incident Management, and Operations Control.
• Exceptional communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business audiences.
