The NPI Test Engineer I joins the Production Division to support the development and transition of test solutions for new products moving from engineering development into production. This early-career role involves collaborating with technical leads and technicians to ensure products are designed for testability and have repeatable manufacturing verification methods. The engineer will develop test strategies, plans, procedures, fixtures, and automation while troubleshooting electrical, software, and mechanical issues. Day-to-day tasks include creating technical documentation, analyzing test data for process improvements, and performing root-cause investigations. Required skills include a solid engineering foundation with exposure to electronics and programming, specifically using Python in Linux and Windows environments. The role requires hands-on experience with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers to solve complex manufacturing challenges within the radar, communication systems, and sensor product domains.
Develop, implement, and troubleshoot manufacturing test solutions for new products moving into production.
Apply Design for Test (DFT) principles during the development phase to improve product testability.
Create and modify test software and scripts using Python and other relevant programming environments.
Operate and troubleshoot test systems within Linux and Windows environments.
Integrate and utilize electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
Perform hands-on hardware troubleshooting and test execution during prototype and production transitions.
Create and maintain technical documentation including test procedures, work instructions, and configuration records.
Analyze test data to identify failures, trends, and opportunities for process improvement.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field.
Associate degree in an applicable engineering technology field with additional relevant hands-on experience.
0–3 years of relevant engineering, test, manufacturing, laboratory, internship, or technical project experience.
Exposure to programming or scripting, preferably Python.
Basic familiarity with Linux or a demonstrated ability to learn command-line operating environments.
Basic understanding of electrical/electronic systems and engineering fundamentals.
Ability to read and understand technical documentation such as drawings, schematics, specifications, and test procedures.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
