Multimedia Engineering Internship – Summer 2027
As a Multimedia Engineering Intern, you will join the team responsible for system-level architecture, analysis, budgeting, and optimization of multimedia use cases to achieve peak performance and low power consumption. You will work on core technologies including camera systems, video encoding and decoding, audio, speech, GPU, modem, CPU, application processors, and computer vision. The role focuses on solving complex hardware and software co-design challenges for high-performance mobile devices. To succeed, you must possess an educational background in computer engineering or a related field and proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Matlab. Preferred skills include experience with OpenCL, Vulkan, and DX; machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch; signal processing; and specialized domains such as AR/XR, 3D imaging, and speech synthesis.
Analyze system-level architecture for multimedia technologies including camera, video, audio, and computer vision.
Perform analysis and budgeting of multimedia use cases to optimize performance.
Develop hardware/software co-design solutions to achieve lower power consumption in mobile devices.
Implement features for Snapdragon products involving GPU, modem, CPU, and application processors.
Write and debug code using programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Matlab.
Optimize multimedia engines to improve the efficiency of high-performance computing systems.
What we're looking for
Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Must be available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027 (May–September).
Expected graduation date must be November 2027 or later.
Must have at least 1 year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD degree program is preferred.
Candidates pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation between November 2027 and June 2028 are preferred.
Experience with graphics (OpenCL, compilers, ray tracing, GPU, Vulkan/DX), computer vision, imaging, speech/audio, or video processing is preferred.
