Embedded Engineering Internship - Summer 2027
As an Embedded Engineering Intern, you will join a team of world-class engineers to develop, implement, and maintain software for complex wireless devices. You will contribute directly to the software development life cycle of various technologies within the embedded engineering track. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, and Assembly. Ideal candidates possess experience with operating systems, resource-constrained environments like MIPS or Memory, and implementing complex algorithms on embedded processors. You may also work with device drivers, real-time programming for heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs, and communication technologies involving 5G NR, LTE, and 802.11 protocols. This position focuses on solving technical challenges in the wireless communications space, specifically developing firmware and software solutions for advanced mobile and connectivity hardware.
Develop, implement, and maintain software for complex wireless devices.
Contribute to the software development life cycle of various Qualcomm technologies.
Write embedded code using programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
Implement complex algorithms on embedded processors.
Develop device drivers for embedded systems.
Perform real-time embedded programming for general purpose and heterogeneous processors like GPUs and DSPs.
Work with wireless protocols including 5G NR, LTE, and 802.11.
What we're looking for
Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Must be available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027 (May–September).
Expected graduation date must be November 2027 or later.
Candidates pursuing a degree with an anticipated graduation between November 2027 and June 2028 are preferred.
Must have at least 1 year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
Experience in embedded programming (C/C++/Assembly), operating systems, and resource-constrained environments is preferred.
Experience with complex algorithms on embedded processors, device drivers, and real-time programming for GPUs or DSPs is preferred.
