Automotive Engineering Internship – Summer 2027
As an Automotive Engineering Intern, you will join a multi-disciplinary team of researchers and software developers to build best-in-class solutions and tools for next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms. You will collaborate with internal teams to advance automotive innovation by developing technologies that solve complex mobility challenges. The role requires proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, C#, JavaScript, or Java. Preferred technical skills include experience with ROS/ROS2, DDS, Adaptive AUTOSAR middleware, and embedded software driver development using Assembly. You may also utilize tools like SysML, UML-RT, Magic Draw, or IBM Rhapsody. The work focuses on critical domains including Perception, Planning, SLAM, Sensor Fusion, and Object Detection within the automotive sector, while adhering to safety-critical processes such as ISO26262, ASPICE, and MISRA C++ to ensure high-quality software for autonomous driving systems.

Work with multi-disciplinary teams of researchers and software developers to advance automotive innovation.
Implement safety-critical software following industry standards such as ISO26262, ASPICE, or MISRA C++.
Develop embedded software drivers using C, C++, Assembly, and multi-processor concepts.
Utilize frameworks like ROS/ROS2, DDS, and Adaptive AUTOSAR for automotive systems.
Perform tasks related to perception, planning, sensor fusion, SLAM, and motion planning.
Support system modeling and analysis using SysML or other model-based development tools.
What we're looking for
Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree program in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Must be available for 11–14 weeks during Summer 2027 (May–September).
Expected graduation date must be November 2027 or later.
Must have at least 1 year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
Candidates pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree with an anticipated graduation between November 2027 and June 2028 are preferred.
Experience in Positioning, Perception, Planning, Robotics, Autonomous Driving, Lidar, Scene Segmentation, Object Detection, Sensor Fusion, SLAM, or Motion Planning is preferred.
Familiarity with safety-critical software processes (ASPICE, ASIL, ISO26262, MISRA C++, AUTOSAR C++), ROS/ROS2, and embedded software development is preferred.
