TL;DR · Mission Engineer, Air Dominance & Strike

The Mission Engineer, Air Dominance & Strike role involves providing data-driven analytical products to guide business strategy, inform requirements, and investigate concepts of employment for defense technologies. Working within the mission engineering team, you will apply the scientific method to develop model-driven analyses and physics-based simulations to quantify how autonomy and perception products deliver success. You will translate complex technical findings into compelling reports for internal teams and external customers. The role requires proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Simulink, along with at least two years of hands-on AFSIM scripting experience. Key competencies include platform and payload modeling, signal processing, and radio frequency propagation. Candidates must possess a U.S. Secret clearance and demonstrate expertise in domains such as counter-air, ISR, electronic warfare, and suppression of enemy air defenses to solve critical problems in the defense sector.

What you'll do

  • Develop model-driven analyses and create the underlying models using the scientific method.
  • Translate stakeholder questions into physics-based analyses and design experiments using mission-level simulations.
  • Utilize internal modeling and simulation capabilities to provide a competitive advantage over competitors.
  • Quantify how technology delivers mission success through data-driven analytical products for demonstration events.
  • Write clear, compelling summaries of complex technical findings for both internal teams and external customers.
  • Perform platform and payload modeling including aerodynamics, fuel, signature, radar, and communications.
  • Execute full operations analysis studies from initial problem definition to final report generation.

What we're looking for

  • Must have 3+ years of experience in a relevant Science or Engineering field.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Must have at least 2 years of hands-on AFSIM scripting experience.
  • Proficiency in modeling and scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, and Simulink is required.
  • Experience in Platform MS&A (aero, fuel, signature) and Payload MS&A (radar, EOIR, communications, or weapons).
  • Knowledge of domains like OCA/DCA, ISR, SEAD/DEAD, Electronic Attack, or Long Range Fires.
  • Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical findings into clear written and spoken reports.
  • Experience with RF, EW, ECM, EA, C5ISRT, or Counter Targeting is preferred.
