Manager, Systems Engineering (Point-of-Sale)

What you'll do

• Lead and develop a team of systems engineers while establishing on-call coverage and performance standards.
• Ensure reliability for point-of-sale (POS), kitchen display systems (KDS), and mobile ordering platforms.
• Manage the hardware lifecycle, including deployment, security patching, and retirement across Android, Windows, and iOS devices.
• Oversee vendor relationships and manage third-party service providers to ensure adherence to performance SLAs.
• Lead disaster recovery efforts, including conducting drills and managing high-priority incident responses.
• Act as the primary point of contact for PCI-DSS/SOC audits and security incident response.
• Manage project budgets, forecasting, and procurement processes within the MyPPM system.
• Build and maintain system health dashboards and KPIs using tools like Splunk, Datadog, or ELK.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Math, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in POS or retail/restaurant technology including hardware, payment processing, and back-of-house integrations.
• 3+ years of experience managing engineers or technical staff with a track record of hiring and developing talent.
• Experience with Kitchen Display Systems (KDS) and mobile ordering platforms.
• Proficiency with Android-based smart clients and Windows-based server environments.
• Practical experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Lean.
• Hardware lifecycle and MDM experience at scale, including SOTI and multi-OS security patching (preferred).
• Basic hardware literacy, SQL skills, and understanding of networking fundamentals (preferred).
