The manager oversees requirements development, decomposition, traceability, interface definition, system integration, verification, validation, and formal technical reviews like PDRs and CDRs. Key responsibilities include promoting configuration management, documentation quality, and the adoption of digital engineering practices including model-based systems engineering. The role requires expertise in aerospace and defense hardware, specifically for high-reliability solutions. Candidates should be proficient with tools such as Jama, DOORS, or PLM systems while navigating complex requirements for airborne or ruggedized hardware within a secure communications environment.
Manage and develop a systems engineering team through staffing, workload planning, and performance coaching.
Direct requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and technical baseline management for aerospace and defense products.
Oversee system integration, verification, validation, and risk management throughout the product lifecycle.
Lead formal technical reviews including System Requirements, Preliminary Design, Critical Design, and Test Readiness Reviews.
Ensure disciplined engineering execution through configuration management, documentation quality, and process compliance.
Perform workforce forecasting and resource planning to provide basis of estimate inputs for multiple programs.
Use data analysis and metrics to communicate technical progress and execution risks to stakeholders.
Drive the adoption of digital engineering practices and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 9 years of experience, a graduate degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering leadership role such as manager, team lead, or functional lead.
Minimum 5 years of experience performing systems engineering for aerospace, defense, RF, telemetry, secure communications, or embedded systems.
Minimum 4 years of experience with requirements development, allocation, traceability, interface definition, configuration control, and verification and validation planning.
Minimum 4 years of experience leading or supporting formal engineering reviews like SRR, PDR, CDR, or TRR.
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance.
Active US Secret or Top Secret clearance (preferred).
