Technical Manager - Systems Engineering

What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of systems engineers to support defense and aerospace programs.
• Manage the full system lifecycle including requirements analysis, architecture design, integration, and verification.
• Ensure technical execution aligns with customer requirements, contract deliverables, and mission performance objectives.
• Oversee the development of system requirements, interface control documentation, and technical baselines.
• Lead root cause investigations, risk management, trade studies, and system-level problem resolution.
• Support proposal efforts including technical volume development and preparation of basis of estimates for new business.
• Drive compliance with aerospace safety, quality, airworthiness, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Manage organizational tasks such as staffing, workload planning, and performance management for the engineering team.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, Master's with 10 years, or 16 years of experience without a degree.
• At least 9 years of progressive engineering experience in defense, aerospace, or other complex regulated environments.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing technical teams or engineering organizations.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
• Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
• Active security clearance (preferred).
• Familiarity with MBSE tools, DOORS, digital engineering, and aerospace/military standards (preferred).
• Export-controlled environments and the ability to work within those constraints.
