Manager, Material Planning, Counter Intrusion joins the Planning team to manage material flow for rapidly iterating defense hardware, including static equipment, mobile ground equipment, and flight vehicles. This role involves leading a team to oversee all aspects of material planning, from forecasting and procurement to inventory control and supplier management. The manager will coordinate with Procurement, Manufacturing, and Logistics departments to develop robust plans that align production demands with financial targets while resolving shortages and optimizing inventory levels. Key responsibilities include managing MRP processes, supporting new product introductions, and implementing process improvements. Required skills include experience with complex mechanical and electrical assemblies, technical documentation, and CAD data. The role requires proficiency in ERP systems like Oracle or Netsuite, CRM tools like Salesforce, and potentially SQL databases, Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikview to manage production metrics.
Develop and implement material planning strategies to ensure continuous supply and optimal inventory levels.
Oversee Material Requirements Planning (MRP) processes and adjust plans based on production needs.
Forecast material requirements using production schedules, historical usage, and future demand projections.
Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve material shortages and expedite orders to prevent production delays.
Monitor inventory levels to correct discrepancies and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy within the material planning function.
Provide regular reporting on material status, risks, and performance metrics to management.
Ensure material availability for new product introductions in alignment with project timelines.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., engineering, manufacturing) or a business field (e.g., supply chain, finance).
8+ years of experience in a supply chain or production role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment with complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
1+ years of experience managing a direct team.
Demonstrated ability to own complex value chains from start to finish while coordinating between multiple internal parties for on-time delivery.
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or NetSuite, and CRM systems like Salesforce.
Technical expertise in reading technical documentation, drawings, and CAD data, including knowledge of electronics and structural manufacturing processes.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local.
Master's degree (preferred); SQL database experience; proficiency in Tableau or Power BI (preferred); ability to obtain a U.S. TS clearance (preferred).
