Manager, Manufacturing Engineering will lead and scale the manufacturing engineering and planning teams for maritime systems. This role involves defining how complex maritime hardware is built, driving manufacturing strategy from component fabrication through vehicle integration and testing. The manager will oversee the creation of manufacturing plans, optimize routings in the Forge MES, manage MBOM and configuration tracking, and lead DFX assessments to improve cost and scalability. Key responsibilities include mentoring engineering talent, performing root-cause analysis, and ensuring compliance with standards like NAVSEA. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, composite fabrication, or precision machining. Required skills include experience with MES and PDM software, as well as proficiency in statistical process control and manufacturing roadmap execution to transition maritime products from R&D into high-rate production environments.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of manufacturing engineers and planners to achieve departmental goals.
Define and execute the manufacturing roadmap to transition maritime systems from R&D to full-rate production.
Create manufacturing plans, optimize routings in the MES, and develop shop-floor work instructions from 2D/3D drawings.
Manage Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) and track as-built configurations from the Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM).
Lead DFM, DFA, and DFT assessments to improve product cost, quality, and scalability during the design phase.
Conduct root-cause analysis and statistical process validations to resolve production discrepancies and optimize yield.
Serve as the primary technical interface between Design, Quality, Supply Chain, Tooling, and Operations teams.
What we're looking for
8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience including at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Demonstrated success leading NPI teams and scaling complex hardware products into high-rate production.
Deep technical foundation in mechanical assembly, electrical integration, composite fabrication, or precision machining.
Hands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Product Data Management (PDM) software.
Proven track record using first-principles problem-solving to manage timelines, budgets, and resources in fast-paced environments.
Must be a U.S. Person due to access to export-controlled information or facilities.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (preferred); experience in maritime/aerospace defense with NAVSEA or MIL-SPEC knowledge (preferred).
