Assoc. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering leads and directs a team of manufacturing engineers to ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met across various programs. The role involves overseeing the creation of production routings, work instructions, flow charts, and cycle time analyses while improving throughput through process development and lean/six sigma techniques. This individual will also serve as the lead manufacturing engineer on specific development programs, supporting design engineering to ensure products are cost-effective and manufacturable. Required skills include experience with military or industry specifications, standard ERP, MRP, and MES software, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like Excel and PowerBI. The position focuses on solving production efficiency challenges within the aerospace and defense sector, specifically addressing manufacturing processes for hardware that must meet rigorous performance requirements over a product's lifecycle.
Lead and mentor manufacturing engineers to ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met.
Oversee the creation of production routings, work instructions, flow charts, and cycle time analyses.
Implement strategies to expand production capabilities and improve overall manufacturing throughput.
Apply lean and six sigma techniques to eliminate waste and optimize production flow.
Serve as the lead manufacturing engineer on one or more development programs.
Develop engineering plans for test points, assembly aids, automated equipment, and training requirements.
Collaborate with design engineers to ensure products are cost-effective, reliable, and manufacturable.
Manage the hiring, coaching, and professional development of the manufacturing engineering team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering with 4 years of experience, a graduate degree with 4 years of experience, or 10 years of experience without an engineering degree.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
Practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects, tactics, and employees within a team.
Experience in military or industry specifications and standards pertaining to design, testing, hardware, material, and processes.
Experience with standard ERP, MRP, and MES software.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, Access).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing and understanding of organizational impact.
