TL;DR · Manager Manufacturing Engineer, Electromagnetic Warfare

Manager Manufacturing Engineer, Electromagnetic Warfare joins the EW Manufacturing team to lead a high-performing group of engineers in building advanced defense hardware for electromagnetic warfare. This role involves managing the entire manufacturing value chain, including design for manufacturability, tool selection, process optimization, and vendor interaction. The manager will oversee production scaling, drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events, and collaborate with design teams to ensure smooth new product transitions. Key responsibilities include developing process flows for complex assemblies and contributing to mechanical or electrical designs like board fabrication and interconnects. Required skills include proficiency in ERP, CAD, PLM, and FRACAS software, along with experience in electromechanical hardware production. The role addresses the technical challenge of producing high-quality defense systems in resource-constrained environments while ensuring mission assurance for complex RF products requiring specialized assembly, integration, and testing.

What you'll do

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of manufacturing engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems integration disciplines.
  • Manage the full manufacturing value chain for specific products including tool design, process optimization, and vendor interaction.
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and leading impactful Kaizen events.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to resolve root causes and address production issues internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering teams during early and late development phases to ensure smooth NPI transitions via DFx.
  • Develop detailed process flows by breaking down complex assemblies into logical subassemblies and manufacturing steps.
  • Contribute to the mechanical and electrical design of hardware components, including interconnects and board fabrication.
  • Scale production and testing processes from low-volume prototypes to high-volume manufacturing environments.

What we're looking for

  • Degree in a technical field such as engineering, math, or a hard science (preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field, preferably manufacturing or design of electromechanical hardware.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience of a high performing team.
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively deliver electromechanical hardware in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Proficiency in ERP, CAD, PLM, and FRACAS software.
  • Experience with RF products requiring system AI&T (assembly, integration, and test) (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with software/firmware flashing or end-of-line testing and troubleshooting (preferred).
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to export controlled information or facilities.
