Manager, Information Security Systems Engineering serves as a hybrid manager and individual contributor within the Waco Systems Engineering team. This role involves leading over twelve direct reports through mentoring and career development while simultaneously acting as an Information System Security Engineer Subject Matter Expert. Key responsibilities include performing Control Account Manager duties on Earned Value programs, writing proposals, and improving processes for systems, software, and networks. The candidate will ensure information systems meet security standards under ICD 503 and the Risk Management Framework. Daily tasks involve developing hardened Linux operating systems, conducting dynamic and static code analysis, utilizing vulnerability scanning tools, and producing Risk Assessment Reports to obtain Authorizations to Operate. Required expertise includes NIST 800-53 standards, Security+ or CISSP certifications, and experience with secure software development practices to address vulnerabilities early in the design architecture.
Manage a team of 12+ Information Security Systems Engineers through mentoring, performance management, and career development.
Perform Control Account Manager duties including project planning, budget monitoring, and ensuring on-time delivery of quality products.
Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to define and execute cybersecurity objectives for systems, software, and networks.
Execute the Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle to ensure information systems meet security standards and obtain Authorizations to Operate (ATO).
Collaborate with Software Development teams to implement secure coding practices and perform static and dynamic code analysis.
Develop hardened Linux operating systems and utilize vulnerability scanning tools to identify and track system weaknesses.
Create critical security documentation including Risk Assessment Reports, System Security Plans, and Security Control Traceability Matrices.
Review technical work products for quality and completeness while providing process improvements and training documentation for the team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and minimum of 9 years of related Information Security experience.
Graduate Degree in STEM and minimum of 7 years of related Information Security experience.
Active TS/SCI Government Security Clearance required upon start.
Must hold a DoD 8570/8140 approved baseline certification with Security+ or equivalent with CISSP.
Proficiency in NIST 800-53 standards and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
Experience in the INCOSE Systems Engineering "V" model (preferred).
Previous experience analyzing system specifications and translating them to Information Security requirements (preferred).
