Information Systems Security Engineer
As an Information Systems Security Engineer, you will join the team to ensure requirements are integrated into systems through purposeful security architecture, design, development, and configuration. You will manage system documentation and monitoring to maintain a secure posture while achieving Interim Authority to Operate and Authority to Operate milestones for DoD clients. Your daily work involves implementing and enforcing DoD cybersecurity policies, performing risk remediation, and conducting security control assessments. You will utilize tools such as ACAS, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM systems to defend against emerging threats. The role requires expertise in the Risk Management Framework, STIGs, and technical implementations for hybrid systems. Key technologies include Linux, UNIX, Ubuntu, Red Hat, and AWS cloud environments. This position specifically focuses on securing and protecting critical AI/ML networks for vital mission operations.
Integrate security requirements into systems through purposeful architecture, design, development, and configuration.
Implement and enforce all DoD cybersecurity policies and procedures defined in official documentation.
Manage system monitoring and updates to maintain a secure posture and achieve IATO/ATO certifications.
Guide clients through the entire Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes.
Conduct enterprise vulnerability scanning using tools like ACAS and perform subsequent risk remediation efforts.
Implement security controls in compliance with DoD directives and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Engineer and harden robust security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
Develop technical cybersecurity solutions for complex hybrid systems and AI/ML networks.
What we're looking for
TS/SCI clearance is required.
Must have 3+ years of experience guiding clients through the RMF and ATO process.
Experience in roles such as ISSE, ISSO, or within IT, Cybersecurity, or IT Service Management.
Experience conducting enterprise vulnerability scanning (ACAS), risk remediation, and security control assessments using STIGs.
Experience engineering and hardening security solutions including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SIEM tools.
Knowledge of DoD communication, cybersecurity, IT systems, and software engineering management processes.
Must possess a DoD 8140 IAT Level II Certification.
Requires an Associate's degree with 7+ years experience, a Bachelor's with 3+ years experience, or 9+ years experience in Cybersecurity without a degree.
