Manager, Gateway Electronics Engineering

What you'll do

• Manage a team of 5-10 engineers to design, develop, and validate reliable electronics for gateway systems.
• Drive electrical architecture, component selection, circuit board design, implementation, verification, and debugging.
• Define and manage all key project milestones and deliverables from initial concept to full-scale production.
• Develop product architecture to achieve low cost, high performance, and extended reliability in harsh environments.
• Recruit, develop, and mentor a team of engineers while holding them accountable to high technical rigor.
• Build out engineering labs and development workspaces while managing associated capital spend.
• Implement automated design validation tests and production tests to ensure hardware performance.
• Compile and maintain lessons learned to influence future designs and long-term technical solutions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or another engineering/STEM discipline.
• 7+ years of professional experience with hardware design/development or electronics test engineering.
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
• Experience managing large, multidisciplinary technical projects from concept through production (preferred).
• Experience designing mixed-signal circuit boards using processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, and various interfaces (preferred).
• Strong understanding of computers, programming languages like Python and C/C++, and computer networking (preferred).
• Ability to travel to SpaceX sites in Hawthorne, CA and Redmond, WA as needed.
