Lead Hardware Development Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead a team of 3-5 engineers to design, develop, and test reliable electronics for Gateway systems.
• Drive electrical architecture, component selection, circuit board design, implementation, and board bring-up.
• Optimize existing hardware designs to improve reliability and reduce production or field defects.
• Implement automated design validation test assets to accelerate development cycles.
• Hire, coach, and develop direct reports to enable independent product ownership and decision-making.
• Manage the full ecosystem and roadmap of consumer electronics from initial concept through full-scale production.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including antenna, software, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or physics.
• 3+ years of professional experience with hardware design/development or electronics test engineering.
• 6+ years of professional experience rapidly designing and delivering highly-reliable products (preferred).
• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing mixed-signal circuit boards from concept through production (preferred).
• 6+ years of professional experience testing, troubleshooting, and debugging electronics (preferred).
• Strong understanding of computer networking, optical networking architectures, and programming languages like Python or C/C++ (preferred).
• Experience in desktop/server Linux and embedded operating systems (preferred).
• U.S. citizenship, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligibility to obtain required Department of State authorizations.
