Manager, Electrical Engineering leads a multidisciplinary product development team responsible for designing and delivering embedded hardware systems for airborne telemetry, radio frequency, secure communications, and flight-critical aerospace applications. The role involves overseeing the entire lifecycle from concept through production transition, including circuit design, power, analog and mixed-signal design, printed circuit board implementation, and mechanical packaging. Key responsibilities include mentoring a team of electrical, firmware, FPGA, software, and mechanical engineers while ensuring products meet technical, cost, and quality requirements. The position requires expertise in Hardware Description Language (HDL) for programmable logic devices, including VHDL implementation and Static Timing Analysis. Candidates must navigate complex engineering reviews like PDR and CDR while managing requirements, configuration control, and digital engineering tools to develop high-reliability, ruggedized solutions for aerospace and defense platforms involving secure communications and information assurance hardware.
Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of electrical, firmware, FPGA, software, and mechanical engineers.
Direct product development activities from initial concept and architecture through design, verification, and production transition.
Provide technical oversight for embedded hardware including circuit design, power, analog/mixed-signal, and PCB implementation.
Guide Hardware Description Language (HDL) development for programmable logic devices and integrated systems.
Lead formal engineering reviews such as System Requirements, Preliminary Design, Critical Design, and Test Readiness reviews.
Manage requirements development, interface definition, configuration control, and the release of controlled engineering baselines.
Oversee workforce planning, including staffing, resource allocation, and employee development for the engineering team.
Ensure all products meet technical, schedule, cost, quality, and cybersecurity requirements for aerospace applications.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree and 9 years of experience, a graduate degree and 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Minimum 4 years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
Minimum 5 years of experience supporting the design, development, integration, test, or qualification of embedded hardware or complex systems.
Experience in Electrical Engineering for hardware product development including power, analog, mixed-signal, digital, programmable logic, or PCB design.
Experience with product development processes including requirements management, configuration control, and release of engineering baselines.
Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret security clearance.
Active U.S. Secret or Top Secret clearance (preferred); experience with FPGA/HDL, airborne systems, or Project Management Professional certification (preferred).
