The Lead Systems Engineer joins the Systems Engineering Organization within Navigation Solutions to support the development of advanced military GPS and Position, Navigation, and Timing capabilities for weapons, ground, airborne, maritime, and space environments. This role involves translating stakeholder needs into well-defined system-level requirements, managing traceability in DOORS, and defining architecture and interfaces. Key responsibilities include requirements decomposition, verification planning, and hands-on system integration and test execution. The engineer will develop test automation, including equipment drivers, debug tools, and reporting tools, while operating wireless and RF test equipment like signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers. Candidates must possess a strong hardware and software technical background, experience with the Systems Engineering Lifecycle, and the ability to perform data analysis and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Translate customer and stakeholder needs into well-defined system-level requirements.
Manage requirements traceability and database updates using tools like DOORS.
Define system architecture, interfaces, and functional decomposition.
Lead system engineering for requirements development and verification status tracking.
Perform hands-on system integration, test deployment, and execution.
Operate wireless and RF test equipment including signal analyzers and generators.
Develop test automation scripts, equipment drivers, and reporting tools.
Document analysis results and create technical briefings for internal and external stakeholders.
What we're looking for
Must be eligible to obtain a US security clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 9 years of experience, a Graduate degree with 7 years of experience, or 13 years of experience without a degree.
Proficient in the operation and understanding of wireless/RF test equipment, such as signal analyzers, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
Develop test automation, including equipment drivers, debug tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting tools.
Strong prior experience with the use of DOORS (preferred).
Demonstrate a strong hardware and software technical background in architecture development, functional decomposition, requirements development, and interface definition with system-modelling tools (preferred).
Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment (preferred).
