Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer - Military GPS Receivers serves as a senior professional within the engineering team focusing on navigation and GPS receiver technology. The role involves developing CONOPS, requirements, design descriptions, and verification plans while leading qualification testing, system integration, and end-to-end test efforts for products in military embedded real-time systems, weapons, and ground environments. Key responsibilities include performing root cause analysis, resolving complex technical issues, and providing technical leadership to a team of engineers across hardware and software disciplines. The position requires expertise in Military GPS systems, M Code, and requirements traceability. Essential skills include proficiency with wireless/RF test equipment like signal analyzers and generators, as well as scripting for automated system test capabilities. Candidates must possess strong communication skills to interface with customers and manage technical baselines during the product development lifecycle.
Develop CONOPS, requirements, design descriptions, and verification plans to meet program schedules and contract deliverables.
Lead qualification testing, system integration, and end-to-end test efforts for military GPS receivers.
Resolve complex technical issues by leading failure investigations and troubleshooting activities in hardware and software.
Provide technical leadership to a team of engineers during the design, build, and integration phases.
Develop and execute automated system test capabilities, including scripts, debug tools, and database interfaces.
Utilize wireless and RF test equipment such as signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers for system verification.
Participate in and lead product development processes, including technical reviews and customer presentations.
Provide engineering inputs and review the technical baseline for proposal efforts.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in STEM with 6 years experience, a graduate degree with 4 years experience, or 10 years of relevant experience without a degree.
Active US Secret Security Clearance.
At least 3 years of experience with Military GPS systems.
At least 3 years of experience in GPS receiver architecture and familiarity with M Code.
Experience with requirements development, traceability, analysis, integration, verification, and validation for navigation and GPS technology (preferred).
Proficiency in DOORS and RRE (preferred).
Strong scripting, debugging, and hardware/software issue isolation skills (preferred).
