The Senior Specialist, Systems Engineer - Military GPS Receivers joins the engineering team to develop navigation and GPS receiver technology for military embedded real-time systems, weapons, and ground environments. Key responsibilities include performing root cause analysis, blank-page architecture development, and troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues. The role requires proficiency in military GPS requirements, M Code, and wireless/RF test equipment like signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers. Candidates must demonstrate skills in requirements traceability, automated system test capabilities, and scripting. The position involves solving technical challenges in navigation systems, ensuring deliverable products meet rigorous military hardware design requirements and customer specifications within a classified environment.
Develop CONOPS, requirements, design descriptions, and verification plans to meet program schedules.
Lead qualification testing, system integration, and end-to-end test efforts for military GPS receivers.
Resolve complex technical issues by leading failure investigations and troubleshooting activities.
Develop and execute automated system test capabilities, including scripts, drivers, and reporting tools.
Utilize wireless and RF test equipment like signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers to validate hardware.
Provide technical leadership to engineers during design, build, integration, and verification activities.
Interface with program leadership and customers to provide progress updates and technical presentations.
Support cross-functional design conflict resolution and blank-page architecture development.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 6 years of experience, a graduate degree with 4 years, or 10 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Active US Secret Security Clearance.
3+ years of experience with Military GPS systems.
3+ years of experience in GPS receiver architecture and familiarity with M Code.
Experience with requirements development, traceability, analysis, integration, verification, and validation for navigation and GPS technology (preferred).
Strong scripting and debugging skills with experience in system integration and test automation (preferred).
Proficiency with wireless/RF test equipment such as signal analyzers and spectrum analyzers (preferred).
