Lead Software Engineer - Markets, Java, AI, Spring Boot joins the Trading Technology team to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable market-leading technology products. As a core technical contributor, you will design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions while leading the integration of cutting-edge technologies like Java, Spring, Springboot, React, and Kafka. You will drive the technology roadmap for next-generation data, analytics, and automation platforms, specifically championing AI and machine learning to deliver real-time trade processing applications. Your daily work involves building data pipelines with Python, Databricks, and Spark, while managing ETL processes for large-scale financial data. The role requires expertise in AWS, Lambda, ECS, EC2, Terraform, and GitHub Actions. You will solve complex problems within the domain of financial markets, specifically focusing on Futures, Options, and Trade Execution or Clearing systems.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems.
Lead the adoption and integration of technologies including Java, Spring Boot, React, and Kafka.
Develop secure production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Define and drive the technology roadmap for next-generation data, analytics, and automation platforms.
Implement data pipelines, analytics workflows, and reporting solutions using Python, Databricks, and Spark.
Build and optimize data models and ETL/ELT processes for large-scale financial data.
Champion AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
Automate recurring issues to improve the overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 7+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and maintaining operational stability.
Expertise in Java, Spring, Springboot, Maven, Kafka, and modern web technologies like React.
Strong knowledge of cloud platforms including AWS (Lambda, ECS, EC2) and Terraform.
Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery using tools such as GitHub Actions and AWS CodePipeline.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams, set technical direction, and deliver complex projects.
Experience implementing standard software engineering practices like Agile development, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience in financial markets (Futures & Options, Trade Execution/Clearing) and knowledge of AMPS, MQ, Cucumber, JUnit, Mockito, and Testcontainers (preferred).
