As a Lead Software Engineer within the Consumer & Community Bank - ATM Channel team, you will serve as a core technical contributor in an agile environment to build and deliver secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will be responsible for designing creative software solutions, developing high-quality production code, troubleshooting complex systems, and leading evaluation sessions with vendors to assess architectural designs. Your daily work involves driving the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and leading communities of practice to promote emerging technologies. The role requires deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React JS, and AWS cloud services, alongside experience with Kubernetes, Kafka for event-driven architectures, and PostgreSQL database optimization. You will manage real-time data processing and full SDLC tasks including CI/CD automation while ensuring robust API and microservices performance within the financial services domain.

What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Design and implement technical solutions for complex problems using non-conventional approaches to ensure scalability and stability.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical feasibility.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish validation standards for AI-generated outputs, including security, performance, and peer review protocols.
Lead communities of practice to promote the use of leading-edge technologies across the software engineering organization.
Manage the full software development life cycle, including CI/CD, automation, and application resiliency in an agile environment.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5 plus years of hands-on experience in software development.
Deep expertise in the Java/JVM ecosystem and Spring Boot framework.
Proven experience building robust APIs and microservices architectures.
Strong proficiency in AWS cloud services and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
Hands-on experience with Kafka for architecting distributed messaging and event-driven architectures.
Advanced skills in PostgreSQL, database optimization, and real-time data processing.
Experience with React JS and modern front-end development practices.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI usage.
Financial Services experience (preferred).
