Lead Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Own platform-level architecture and technical strategy to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions.
• Lead complex technical initiatives from discovery through delivery while establishing engineering standards and reusable patterns.
• Design and implement backend services, GraphQL APIs, and React UIs using Module Federation micro-frontends.
• Manage content discovery capabilities including Lucene-based full-text search and content authoring pipelines.
• Write high-quality code in Java Spring Boot, React.js, GraphQL, Python, and Go while modeling best-in-class practices.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on guidance on system design and implementation.
• Set and enforce non-functional standards for security, performance, availability, and cost efficiency across all platforms.
• Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery velocity.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Proven expertise in distributed system design, application architecture, and technical leadership for cross-team initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on responsible AI use.
• Hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python with a track record of designing GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Deep experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3) and full SDLC.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and align technical decisions with business outcomes.
• Infrastructure as Code expertise using Terraform (preferred).
