Lead Software Engineer - Java / Python / AWS / AI/ML joins the Commercial & Community Banking team to build and deliver trusted, scalable technology products. You will build AI-driven capabilities, including LLM-based services, orchestration, and integrations into business workflows. You will utilize Java, Python, AWS ECS, EKS, and Postgres, while leveraging AI agents like CoPilot and Claude. Technical expertise must include PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, and experience with RAG, prompt orchestration, and distributed systems within a secure production environment.

What you'll do

Design and develop creative full-stack software solutions using innovative technical approaches.
Build and implement AI-driven capabilities, including LLM-based services and business workflow integrations.
Architect and deliver cloud-native microservices and APIs ensuring scalability, resilience, and security.
Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Identify and automate solutions for recurring operational issues to improve system stability and observability.
Validate AI-generated outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in Software Engineering and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong system design, application development, and operational stability skills in production environments.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to code, test, troubleshoot, and document.
Understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency expectations.
Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI use cases like RAG, agents, and prompt orchestration.
Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face.
Experience with distributed systems, at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and microservices with RESTful APIs.
Advanced Java proficiency (preferred); Cloud certification in AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred); working knowledge of Python (preferred).
