JOB TITLE: Lead Software Engineer - Java As a Lead Software Engineer within Consumer & Community Banking, you will join an agile team to build and deliver trusted, scalable technology products. What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Design and execute creative software solutions to solve complex technical problems beyond conventional approaches.
Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish consistent validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing across the team.
Identify and automate the remediation of recurring issues to improve the operational stability of software systems.
Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to assess architectural designs and technical credentials.
Lead communities of practice to promote the awareness and use of leading-edge technologies across Software Engineering.
Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchains and automation capabilities to improve overall development value.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong hands-on experience in Java backend development and Spring Boot in production environments.
Proven ability in system design for scalable, secure services using microservices and API-driven architectures.
Advanced proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python, C#, etc.) and hands-on work with Large Language Models and generative AI.
Experience with distributed systems, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and database technologies (relational/NoSQL).
Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter), Chaos Monkey Testing, and testing frameworks (JUnit, Cucumber, etc.).
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.
Cloud certification (preferred); practical public cloud development experience (preferred); and in-depth knowledge of financial services (preferred).
