Lead Software Engineer, API Platform

What you'll do

• Design, build, and enhance the API Platform to empower internal and external API developers.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other engineers.
• Identify and remove technical debt to improve the overall quality of engineering deliverables.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to lead technical decisions regarding product design and application functionality.
• Manage end-to-end problem-solving across diverse technology stacks to meet business objectives.
• Advocate for firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices within the engineering community.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Programming experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, RDBMS, NoSQL, Cloud Native, Agile, DevOps, and TDD.
• Recent experience with cloud platforms like AWS and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building or using API Platforms with expertise in the end-to-end API stack, security, and design.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and understanding responsible AI use.
• Deep understanding of networking, API security, and scalable cloud systems (preferred); knowledge of front-end or data engineering (preferred).
