The Lead Software Development Engineering role is situated within the Ontada technology division, where the team develops innovative data solutions specifically for oncology care. You will provide technical leadership and architecture guidance across multiple engineering teams responsible for the iKnowMed G2 platform and its supporting applications, such as the Ontada Health Portal and Value-Based Care measures. Your daily responsibilities include designing cloud-native platforms, establishing architectural standards, and developing multi-year technology roadmaps to ensure system reliability in a highly regulated healthcare environment. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Databricks, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Kafka while integrating advanced technologies like LLMs, NLP, and RAG patterns. The role focuses on solving complex problems regarding healthcare interoperability, including HL7/FHIR standards, to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for clinicians across the United States.
Define and drive the technology vision, architecture strategy, and modernization roadmap for enterprise platforms using cloud-native microservices.

Design and implement secure integration solutions using REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and healthcare interoperability standards like HL7/FHIR.
Drive the adoption of modern cloud platforms, containerization, and DevSecOps practices to improve platform agility.
Develop multi-year architecture roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies to align technical investments with business objectives.
Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams while fostering excellence through design reviews and technical governance.
Implement AI/GenAI solutions, including LLM, NLP, and RAG patterns, to accelerate business outcomes and innovation.
Ensure all architectural solutions comply with healthcare regulations, security protocols, and enterprise governance frameworks.
What we're looking for
Must have a degree or equivalent with 10+ years of relevant experience (lesser years accepted with a Master's or Doctorate).
Requires 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in architecture and technical leadership for distributed systems.
Must possess deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud-native architecture.
Must have experience with REST APIs, event-driven architectures, Kafka, and enterprise integration patterns.
Requires hands-on expertise in Azure, AWS, or GCP, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
Must be able to design secure, scalable, multi-tenant applications while ensuring compliance in regulated environments.
Familiarity with AI/GenAI technologies, LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and RAG architectures is required.
Master’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering).
