Lead Product Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead the architecture and technical approach for products owned by the team.
• Ship production code most weeks across accessible UIs, GraphQL APIs, and Node.js microservices.
• Work with users and stakeholders to run discovery, spikes, and prototypes before team commitment.
• Define and measure product impact on members and internal teams to inform roadmap decisions.
• Set team standards for test-driven development, accessibility, performance, and security.
• Own the shared AI coding skills, tooling, and standards for the engineering practice.
• Coach other product teams on adopting AI coding practices and onboarding their engineers.
• Participate in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new engineers into the practice.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8 or more years of software engineering experience.
• 5 or more years of full-stack web development experience.
• 2 or more years of experience each with React, Node.js, and GraphQL.
• 2 or more years of experience leading technical direction, including establishing practices or tools adopted by other teams.
• 2 or more years of experience owning product direction, including shaping roadmaps and tying work to measured results.
• 1 or more years of hands-on experience building skills, prompts, or tooling around AI coding tools like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
• Experience with Vitest, Jest, Playwright, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, or Next.js (preferred).
