The role requires expertise in automation systems, cloud platforms, distributed systems, and hardware-software integration. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in managing workflows involving liquid handlers, laboratory information management systems, and electronic laboratory notebooks, while also defining applications for artificial intelligence and agents within scientific workflows.

What you'll do

  • Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and investment recommendations for laboratory automation and robotics.
  • Observe laboratory workflows to identify operational constraints and prioritize opportunities based on scientific value and reliability.
  • Own the product lifecycle from initial discovery through pilot, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Define requirements for coordinating instruments, robots, materials, and scientific applications while ensuring safety and traceability.
  • Shape reusable integration requirements for laboratory instruments, robotic systems, and laboratory information management systems.
  • Partner with engineering leaders to resolve tradeoffs between customer value, technical feasibility, security, and delivery time.
  • Define requirements for AI and agent applications in laboratory workflows with applied scientists and engineers.
  • Develop market insights, product positioning, pricing recommendations, and business cases for commercial teams.

What we're looking for

  • Applicants must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Robotics, Life Sciences, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product management, including substantial ownership of complex customer-facing products from discovery through delivery and adoption.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead product strategy, roadmaps, requirements, and investment recommendations across multiple engineering and partner teams.
  • Experience working directly with technically demanding customers and translating detailed operational workflows into scalable product capabilities and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong technical judgment in automation systems, workflow orchestration, cloud platforms, distributed systems, or products combining hardware and software.
  • Experience making consequential product decisions using customer research, usage data, pilot results, and business economics.
  • Direct experience in laboratory automation, robotics, scientific instruments, industrial automation, or integration of physical systems with software (preferred).
