The Lead Principal Product Manager joins the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure team to develop scientific platform capabilities for genomics, pathogens research, and other computationally intensive workflows. As a senior individual contributor, you will own the product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for scientific computing and genomics. You will work directly with scientists, research computing teams, and engineering to translate complex scientific workflows into reliable cloud capabilities. Key responsibilities include defining product vision, conducting customer discovery, and managing requirements through launch. You will utilize skills in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms to address challenges in reproducibility, provenance, and cost visibility. You will also integrate scientific applications with workflow engines and identify artificial intelligence capabilities to improve scientific evaluation needs and human oversight within these complex technical environments.

What you'll do

  • Define the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and investment recommendations for scientific computing and genomics.
  • Build relationships with scientists and research teams to understand their computational pipelines and data flows.
  • Translate customer discovery into clear requirements, user journeys, and prioritized capabilities.
  • Define the product experience for onboarding, configuring, executing, and troubleshooting scientific workflows.
  • Partner with engineering to manage technical tradeoffs between usability, performance, reliability, and cost.
  • Identify and define AI capabilities, scientific evaluation needs, and measures of correctness for research applications.
  • Develop market insights, business cases, and pricing recommendations for commercial expansion.
  • Establish metrics for adoption, execution reliability, and workflow efficiency to guide roadmap revisions.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product management, including substantial ownership of highly technical enterprise software, cloud, data, or platform products.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead product strategy and delivery across multiple teams from ambiguous customer needs through launch and measurable adoption.
  • Experience working directly with technically sophisticated users on scientific computing, data intensive workflows, AI platforms, or comparable complex technical environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, identity, and enterprise integration.
  • Experience defining business cases, prioritizing investment, and using qualitative research and quantitative evidence to make product decisions.
  • Experience in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, pathogens research, scientific computing, or life sciences software (preferred).
  • Familiarity with scientific workflow engines, containerized execution, and reproducible computational environments (preferred).
