The Lead Principal Platform Software Engineer joins the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure team to lead the design and development of scalable software solutions for a new region build service. This role focuses on driving region build automation by architecting broad system interactions and developing high-scale, resilient services. You will mentor teams, establish coding standards, and troubleshoot complex challenges while ensuring performance and maintainability. Key responsibilities include managing the full software development lifecycle for mission-critical tier-one livesite services. Required technical skills include proficiency in Java, GoLang, C#, or similar OO languages, along with experience in Kubernetes, Terraform, SQL, and NoSQL databases. You must possess deep knowledge of computer networking, Linux internals, and host virtualization technologies like KVM and Docker to solve complex cloud infrastructure problems.

Architect broad system interactions ensuring high availability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers across the organization.

Recommend and justify major product changes using data-driven approaches to build consensus.
Create technical documentation including proposals, design specifications, and architecture diagrams.
What we're looking for
BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical field involving coding or equivalent practical experience.
10+ years of total experience in software development.
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality code using Java, GoLang, C#, or similar object-oriented languages.
Proven ability to deliver products and experience with the full software development lifecycle.
Experience working on large-scale, highly distributed services infrastructure in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-one livesite servicing.
Experience designing architectures that ensure high availability, scalability, and flexibility for future business demands.
Experience as a technical lead on a large scale cloud service (preferred).
Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), SQL/NoSQL databases, and Computer Networking (preferred).
