What you'll do

Establish long-term architecture, technical strategy, and investment direction for core services and APIs powering the OCI deployment platform.
Lead multi-year initiatives to deliver resilient, scalable deployment workflows and reusable primitives for internal teams and customers.
Translate complex business and technical challenges into coherent engineering principles and execution roadmaps for senior stakeholders.
Define and enforce platform-wide safety standards including isolation, policy enforcement, auditability, and "safe-by-default" deployment patterns.
Build the technical foundations and governance models to support AI-assisted engineering and agentic workflows at scale.
Identify high-leverage opportunities by analyzing operational data, customer needs, and emerging technology trends.
Act as an organizational multiplier through architecture leadership, technical mentorship, and the development of enduring engineering standards.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
12+ years of professional software development experience with distributed systems, platform services, or developer tools at scale.
Strong programming skills in one or more modern languages such as Java, Go, C++, C#, or Python.
Recognized depth in architecture and system design for evolving APIs, data models, and service ecosystems.
Solid understanding of cloud-native systems including containers, orchestration, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or release engineering.
Demonstrated Senior Principal-level leadership to establish technical vision, influence executives, and align organizations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts and build consensus.
Experience in areas like deployment platforms, reliability engineering, security engineering, or AI-assisted developer tools (preferred).
