As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Corporate Technology's Enterprise Observability Platforms, you will join a high-performing agile team to build and operate a strategic Infrastructure Monitoring platform that enhances service resilience and delivers actionable insights. Your day-to-day responsibilities include engineering and operating monitoring platforms for Linux, Windows, and complex network estates, designing telemetry collection patterns with OpenTelemetry, developing standardized onboarding practices, and automating platform operations using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash. You will also manage production health by leading triage and implementing resilience improvements while partnering with various teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives. The role requires expertise in enterprise operating systems, observability concepts, automation practices, and infrastructure-as-code deployment patterns using tools like Terraform, as well as experience with hybrid cloud environments and modern observability ecosystems such as Splunk and Prometheus.
Engineer and operate Infrastructure Monitoring platforms to ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security.
Build enterprise-grade monitoring capabilities across Linux, Windows, and complex Network estates for platform-level onboarding and lifecycle management.
Design and implement telemetry collection patterns using OpenTelemetry for metrics, logs, events, and integrate them into downstream components.
Develop standardized onboarding patterns to accelerate safe adoption of monitoring solutions at scale with agents/collectors, configurations, dashboards, and alert policies.
Improve monitoring signal quality through baselining, threshold strategy, noise reduction, enrichment, and topology/context alignment for reliable insights.
What we're looking for
Proficiency in enterprise operating systems (Linux and/or Windows).
Proven experience delivering and operating enterprise-scale Infrastructure Monitoring solutions.
Solid understanding of observability concepts including metrics, logs, events, and OpenTelemetry collection patterns.
Expertise in automation practices using Python, Ansible, PowerShell/Bash, and CI/CD-driven workflows.
Experience implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform for standardized provisioning.
Hands-on experience operating hybrid infrastructure environments including on-premises and cloud platforms.
Demonstrated ability to improve monitoring signal quality through baselining, threshold strategy, noise reduction, and enrichment.
