As Lead Engineer, Data Centers, you will join the data center facilities team to ensure the smooth operation and maintenance of mission-critical environments. You will work alongside the Assistant Chief and Chief Engineer to manage technical teams, oversee facility operations, and implement strategies to optimize infrastructure performance, reliability, and efficiency. Your daily responsibilities include monitoring power, cooling, and network systems; developing preventive maintenance schedules; managing critical incidents; and performing root cause analysis for electrical distribution system events. You will also lead capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The role requires expertise in data center infrastructure, building automation systems, and facility management software. Candidates should possess knowledge of ASHRAE, TIA, or Uptime Institute standards, along with skills in troubleshooting, team leadership, and managing complex electrical distribution systems for high-availability environments.

What you'll do

Oversee day-to-day data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
Supervise, mentor, and manage technical staff including engineers, technicians, and contractors.
Monitor and analyze critical infrastructure performance for power, cooling, and network systems.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects.
Serve as the primary point of contact for service-impacting events involving electrical distribution systems.
Troubleshoot incidents, mitigate risks, and create root cause analysis reports.
Provide 24/7 on-call support for electrical distribution system issues.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
Strong knowledge of power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute.
Proficiency in facility management software and building automation systems.
Valid certification in at least one relevant area (e.g., CDCP, DCPRO, or equivalent).
Valid driver's license.
Professional Engineer (PE) license; experience with energy efficiency, project management, and multi-site management (preferred).
