Lead Electrical Interconnect Engineer (Cable & Harness Design)

What you'll do

• Design and review cable harness assemblies and interconnect solutions using tools like Capital Harness or Xpedition.
• Create detailed interconnect definitions, wire lists, and engineering documentation ensuring accuracy and configuration control.
• Translate system requirements into technical designs including conductor selection, shielding, grounding, and power distribution.
• Provide technical leadership, tasking, and mentorship to other engineers within the cable and interconnect discipline.
• Perform change impact assessments for electronic systems to minimize technical, schedule, and integration risks.
• Resolve interface issues and troubleshoot discrepancies by partnering with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
• Lead design reviews, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions for cable and interconnect hardware.
• Establish and promote best practices and reusable design approaches across the engineering department.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of electrical/test engineering experience, or a Graduate Degree and 7 years of experience.
• Minimum of 13 years of electrical/test engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Experience designing cable harness and interconnect solutions for aerospace, defense, or high-reliability systems (preferred).
• Proficiency in Capital Harness or Xpedition tools (preferred).
• Knowledge of DC power distribution, grounding, shielding, and connector selection (preferred).
• Working knowledge of cable fabrication, inspection, and test processes (preferred).
• U.S. citizens.
