iPad Hardware Systems Design Engineer, Signal Integrity

What you'll do

• Perform electrical design, simulation, and validation for iPad hardware from concept through mass production.
• Conduct signal and power integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces including PCIe, USB, and DisplayPort.
• Execute physical layer compliance testing for high-speed SerDes designs and transmission line theory.
• Create schematics and manage rigid/flexible PCB layouts for consumer electronics.
• Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, prototyping, and debugging in a lab environment using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Analyze system design trade-offs and resolve issues from the system level down to the silicon level.
• Develop scripts to assist with hardware development and data analysis.
• Provide factory build support and technical guidance during the manufacturing process.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience designing consumer electronics and/or embedded systems while working with multi-functional teams.
• Strong electrical engineering fundamentals including analog and digital design, signal integrity, and power integrity.
• Proficiency in a lab environment using oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
• Deep knowledge of high-speed Serdes design, analysis, and equalization methods (preferred).
• Experience performing physical layer compliance testing for PCIe, USB, DisplayPort, and Thunderbolt interfaces (preferred).
• Strong fundamentals in 3D/2D EM simulation tools and transmission line theory (preferred).
• Proficiency in schematic capture, rigid/flexible PCB layout, and using scripting languages for data analysis (preferred).
