Intern Supply Chain Specialist - 2027 is a role within the IBM Consulting FutureNow Center where you will collaborate with experienced consultants and data specialists to solve complex business challenges. You will support supply chain transformation by analyzing data, identifying operational trends, and developing recommendations to improve procurement, logistics, inventory management, and manufacturing processes. The work involves leveraging Artificial Intelligence, automation, cloud technologies, and enterprise applications to enhance decision-making for clients across various industries like automotive, retail, and healthcare. To succeed, you should possess a strong foundation in supply chain management or industrial engineering, along with skills in data analysis, business analytics, and process improvement. You will utilize tools such as Excel and data visualization platforms while gaining experience in consulting methodologies to help organizations improve how they plan, source, manage, and deliver products and services.
Support supply chain transformation projects involving planning, procurement, sourcing, inventory, and logistics.
Analyze supply chain data to identify trends and operational challenges.
Develop insights from data analysis to support business decisions and performance improvements.
Evaluate current supply chain processes to identify opportunities for increased efficiency and resilience.
Apply AI, automation, and cloud technologies to improve supply chain operations and decision-making.
Document processes and requirements to support the development of technical solutions.
Participate in client meetings, workshops, testing, and documentation activities.
What we're looking for
High School Diploma or GED.
Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations, business, engineering, information systems, analytics, economics, or a related field.
Foundational understanding of supply chain processes including procurement, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and manufacturing.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and solve problems using a structured approach.
Understanding of how data and technology, such as AI and cloud platforms, support business operations.
Familiarity with tools like Excel, data visualization, ERP systems, or other business technologies (preferred).
Experience in supply chain activities through coursework, projects, internships, or case competitions (preferred).
