The Innovation Tech Lead joins the global Digital organization to define the technical vision, architecture, and delivery for a priority business domain and its portfolio of enterprise digital products. This role serves as the senior-most technical voice, bridging software engineering, data science, and machine learning to move AI-powered products from concept to global deployment. You will manage the technical backlog, oversee day-to-day engineering resourcing, conduct code reviews, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable APIs, data pipelines, and MLOps capabilities. The role requires expertise in Python, React, REST/GraphQL, SQL, and cloud-native environments like Azure, AWS, or GCP. You will solve complex problems regarding data permissioning, regional governance, and large-scale infrastructure integration while translating technical trade-offs for senior stakeholders to ensure high performance across diverse markets.
Define and communicate the technical vision, architecture principles, and engineering roadmap for the priority domain.
Make critical technical trade-off decisions regarding speed, scalability, maintainability, and long-term platform health.
Manage the technical backlog, including resource allocation, capacity planning, and risk mitigation for engineering teams.
Lead day-to-day engineering activities such as conducting code reviews, facilitating design discussions, and removing technical blockers.
Oversee the implementation of secure, scalable data pipelines, APIs, and AI/ML capabilities across the domain.
Serve as the primary technical integration point to resolve dependencies between Analytics, Data, ML, and DevOps squads.
Partner with Product Managers to translate product roadmaps into actionable technical plans and execution strategies.
Drive operational reliability by enforcing standards for code quality, testing, security, and system performance.
What we're looking for
Must have 10+ years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or technical leadership roles.
Must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience building and scaling enterprise platforms with ML models in production is required, preferably in Azure cloud environments.
Must possess deep fluency in the modern data and ML stack, including MLOps, CI/CD, and data pipeline architecture.
Must have a strong software engineering foundation with hands-on experience in Python and familiarity with React, REST/GraphQL APIs, and microservices.
Proven ability to communicate technical architecture and trade-offs to senior non-technical stakeholders and C-suite audiences.
Ability to lead technical integration across multiple workstreams while managing dependencies and resolving architectural conflicts.
