Infrastructure Engineer III, Software Packaging

What you'll do

• Package, test, and deliver Windows and macOS applications for enterprise deployment including upgrades and dependency management.
• Manage the full packaging lifecycle from initial requirements gathering and installation analysis to UAT support and production readiness.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for complex packaging issues and mentor junior packagers on team standards.
• Diagnose complex installation and runtime issues using advanced monitoring, logging, and root-cause analysis with vendors.
• Develop and improve automation for packaging pipelines, including build validation, detection rules, and rollback plans.
• Utilize AI tools to generate scripts, summarize logs, and draft technical documentation while validating all outputs.
• Coordinate with security and engineering stakeholders to ensure smooth application releases with minimal user disruption.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of experience in software packaging or application deployment roles.
• Experience serving as a technical lead or escalation point for packaging issues.
• Strong expertise in packaging applications for Windows 11 and working knowledge of macOS packaging.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting skills and knowledge of packaging automation patterns.
• Proficiency with Windows Installer technologies, specifically MSI (required) and MSIX (preferred).
• Experience using packaging toolsets such as AdminStudio or equivalent.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills including Procmon-style analysis, install logs, services, and registry/file system permissions.
• Experience coordinating with app owners and infrastructure teams to execute enterprise rollouts and upgrades.
