Infrastructure Engineer – Azure Virtual Desktop / End User Computing will join the engineering team to improve the overall Virtual Desktop experience through automation and design. This role involves providing guidance for existing and future desktop virtualization architectures, collaborating with Infrastructure Operations and Service Management teams, and building repeatable patterns to improve deployment times across environments. The candidate will manage and configure Azure Virtual Desktop components including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, and RemoteApp solutions. Key technical requirements include expertise in Microsoft Windows, Azure infrastructure, identity, networking, and infrastructure automation. Improve the overall Virtual Desktop (VDI) experience through automation and design.
Provide guidance and roadmaps for existing and future desktop virtualization architectures.
Design and build repeatable patterns and build-kits to improve deployment times for production environments.
Manage Azure Virtual Desktop components including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, and application groups.
Configure and manage FSLogix profile containers, storage integration, and performance troubleshooting.
Build and support Microsoft RemoteApp solutions for enterprise application delivery.
Transition technical knowledge and processes to the Infrastructure Operations team.
What we're looking for
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of IT experience, or technical certifications/college courses with 7 years of IT experience, or 9 years of IT experience.
Demonstrated hands-on experience designing, building, configuring, operating, and supporting Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
Experience managing AVD components including host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, desktop assignments, scaling, and user access.
Strong experience with FSLogix, including profile containers, configuration, storage integration, troubleshooting, and performance.
Experience building and supporting Microsoft RemoteApp / AVD RemoteApp solutions for enterprise application delivery.
Proficiency in infrastructure automation and operations management.
Knowledge of ITIL v3 standards, procedures, and policies.
Strong communication, problem-solving, analytical skills, and ability to manage cross-functional execution.
