The Industrial Space Planner joins the Space Planning team to design, optimize, and scale the company's physical footprint across manufacturing, R&D laboratories, and production environments. This role involves bridging the gap between engineering requirements and facility solutions by conducting site assessments, building capacity models, and creating master plans for warehouse and lab spaces. The successful candidate will analyze production workflows using lean principles to eliminate bottlenecks while coordinating infrastructure requirements like power loads and HVAC systems. Key responsibilities include validating space requests against utilization metrics and managing spatial data across multiple facilities. Required skills include proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Archibus, Power BI, and JIRA, alongside experience with Six Sigma and other production principles. The role focuses on solving complex logistical challenges within high-tech manufacturing and advanced hardware R&D environments to ensure scalable and efficient operations.
Create facility master plans, block plans, and equipment layouts for warehouse, lab, and production spaces using AutoCAD.
Analyze R&D workflows and material flow using lean principles to optimize layout designs and eliminate bottlenecks.
Build capacity models and develop future-state growth scenarios to support manufacturing ramp and R&D pipeline expansion.
Critically evaluate and validate space requests against utilization metrics rather than simply fulfilling requested requirements.
Partner with Industrial Engineers to design, validate, and optimize physical layouts for manufacturing and prototyping environments.
Coordinate infrastructure requirements including power loads, HVAC, compressed air, and EHS clearances with the Facilities team.
Maintain accurate spatial data and coordinate relocation strategies and change tracking across multiple facilities.
What we're looking for
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Previous experience in industrial, manufacturing, supply chain, or production environments.
Proficiency in CAD software, ArcGIS, Archibus, Power BI, JIRA, or similar space planning tools.
Experience with lean, six sigma, and other related production principles.
Strong understanding of spatial layout principles, workflow optimization, and infrastructure coordination.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively under pressure.
Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities Planning, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
