The HID Algorithms Engineer joins the Human Interface Devices group to build next-generation human-computer interactions from the ground up. Working in the earliest stages of development, you will define new interaction paradigms and bring emerging sensing technologies to life for various product lines. Your daily responsibilities include prototyping and defining end-to-end interactions, investigating new technologies with hardware, software, and design partners, and developing and validating algorithmic concepts to move from concept to production. You will write code that ships in products used by millions of people. The role requires strong fundamentals in state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning. Required technical skills include programming in C++ and Python, with preferred experience in real-time systems, Objective-C, Swift, and agentic workflows. This role solves the challenge of creating foundational interaction experiences for future products.

What you'll do

Prototype and define end-to-end human-computer interactions using emerging technologies.
Develop and validate algorithmic concepts from initial concept through production.
Write high-quality code in C++ and Python for products used by millions of people.
Design state machines, signal processing algorithms, and machine learning models.
Drive the technical work required to bring new sensing technologies to life.
Perform root cause analysis and solve complex problems in ambiguous environments.
Develop software for real-time systems and agentic workflows.

What we're looking for

Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation.
Strong fundamentals in mathematics, state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning.
Proficiency in programming with C++ and Python.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a related field.
Preferred experience in real-time systems, interaction technologies, Objective-C, Swift, or agentic workflows.
