As a HID Algorithms Engineer, you will join the Human Interface Devices group to build next-generation human-computer interactions from the ground up. You will work in the earliest stages of development, defining new interaction paradigms and bringing emerging sensing technologies to life for various product lines. Your daily responsibilities include prototyping and defining interactions end-to-end, investigating new technologies with hardware, software, and design partners, and developing algorithmic concepts that move from initial prototypes to production code. The role requires expertise in algorithm and mathematics fundamentals, including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning. You will utilize C++, Python, Objective-C, and Swift to solve complex problems. This position focuses on the technical challenge of creating foundational interaction technologies for products where solutions are not yet defined or existing.
Prototype and define end-to-end human-computer interactions using emerging technologies.
Develop and validate algorithmic concepts from initial concept through production.
Write production-ready code in C++ and Python for high-volume consumer products.
Implement signal processing, state machine design, and machine learning techniques.
Research and integrate new sensing technologies into existing product lines.
Perform root cause analysis to solve complex technical problems in ambiguous environments.
Develop software for real-time systems and agentic workflows.
What we're looking for
Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation.
Proficiency in mathematics and algorithms including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning.
Proficiency in programming with C++ and Python.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 3+ years of experience.
MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of experience (preferred).
Experience with real-time systems, interaction technologies, Objective-C, Swift, or agentic workflows (preferred).
