The HID Algorithms Engineer joins the Human Interface Devices group to develop next-generation human-computer interactions and bring new sensing technologies to life. Working in the earliest stages of development, you will prototype and define end-to-end interactions while investigating emerging technologies and new interaction paradigms alongside hardware, software, and design partners. You will be responsible for developing and validating algorithmic concepts, taking prototypes from initial concept through production by writing code that ships in consumer products. The role requires expertise in algorithm and mathematics fundamentals including state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning. Candidates must be proficient in C++ and Python, with potential experience in Objective-C, Swift, and real-time systems. This position focuses on the technical challenge of defining new interaction methods where solutions do not yet exist.
Prototype and define end-to-end human-computer interaction paradigms using emerging technologies.
Develop and validate algorithmic concepts from initial concept through production.
Write high-quality code in C++ and Python for products used by millions of people.
Implement signal processing, machine learning, and state machine designs to power new sensing technologies.
Drive the technical work required to transition experimental prototypes into production-ready software.
Solve complex problems and perform root cause analysis in ambiguous, early-stage development environments.
Develop software for real-time systems and agentic workflows.
What we're looking for
Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation.
Strong fundamentals in mathematics, state machine design, statistics, signal processing, and machine learning.
Proficiency in programming with C++ and Python.
Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 3+ years of experience.
MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of experience (preferred).
Experience with real-time systems, interaction technologies, Objective-C, Swift, or agentic workflows (preferred).
