Key responsibilities include identifying cost reduction projects, establishing preferred suppliers, and ensuring quality compliance. Required skills include expertise in procurement, contract negotiation, and material planning, alongside technical proficiency in MS Office Suite, SQL, and Power BI. The role addresses the critical challenge of securing reliable bulk chemical and gas commodities for aerospace manufacturing operations.
Create sourcing strategies for industrial gases and capital purchases to reduce risk and meet cost targets.
Negotiate long-term supply agreements, volume commitments, and pricing with major industrial gas producers.
Manage end-to-end logistics for bulk liquid and cylinder gases including cryogenic tanker fleets and distribution.
Perform advanced quantitative analysis to identify financial impacts of decisions and drive year-over-year cost optimization.
Develop and manage supplier performance programs using scorecards and defined Service Level Agreements.
Draft contract documents with the legal department and ensure supplier compliance with all contract obligations.
Conduct market research, benchmarking, and analysis for assigned categories to inform procurement strategy.
Process purchase orders and resolve blocked invoices related to industrial gas and production supplies.
What we're looking for
Advanced degree and 4+ years experience, bachelor's and 6+ years experience, or 10+ years of experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, planning, operations, or supply chain management.
Experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement for industrial gases or related bulk chemical/gas commodities (preferred).
Proven track record negotiating long-term supply agreements and pricing with major industrial gas producers (preferred).
Experience managing end-to-end logistics for bulk liquid and cylinder gases, including cryogenic tanker fleets and pipeline supply (preferred).
Background in total cost of ownership analysis, risk mitigation, and supplier performance scorecards (preferred).
APICS or Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred).
Ability to pass Air Force background checks for Cape Canaveral.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
