TL;DR · Global Supply Manager

The Global Supply Manager (Raptor) joins the Raptor Supply Chain team as a technical expert in machining, forging, and metallic raw materials. This individual will manage the supply base for critical commodities, including machined components, mechanical assemblies, sheet metal, forgings, castings, and hardware. Key responsibilities include conducting supplier analyses for make-versus-buy decisions, negotiating complex contracts, developing should-cost models, and managing manufacturing capacity to support high-volume production of engine parts. The role requires proficiency in technical procurement, new product introduction, and risk mitigation while balancing cost, rate, and reliability. Candidates must possess expertise in CNC machined parts, material cost control, and contract negotiation. This position addresses the challenge of scaling a complex aerospace supply chain for the Raptor program, ensuring that high-quality components are available to meet rapidly evolving designs and ambitious production volumes.

What you'll do

  • Manage the supply base for critical machined components, mechanical assemblies, and raw materials for the Raptor product line.
  • Develop "should-cost" models and negotiate contracts to proactively mitigate cost increases and improve total cost of ownership.
  • Forecast demand and manage vendor capacity to support rapid production ramps and design changes.
  • Advise internal engineering teams on design for manufacturability, supply chain optimization, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Conduct supplier audits and technical assessments to evaluate manufacturing capabilities for new product development and high-volume production.
  • Perform "Make vs. Buy" analyses to determine optimal sourcing plans based on risk, cost, and technology requirements.
  • Present supply base health, risk assessments, and contract awards to senior leadership and program executives.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for manufacturing process optimization and cost reduction.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet export control requirements.
  • Requires an advanced degree and 4+ years of experience, a bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience, or 10+ years of experience in relevant fields.
  • Experience must focus on CNC machined parts, forgings, raw materials, engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, supply chain management, or material cost control.
  • Must have experience identifying and executing an optimized machining supply chain including raw materials, processing, inspection, and logistics.
  • Ability to read drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, and review quality documents.
  • Experience in strategic technical procurement, new product introduction, and high-volume production manufacturing or design.
  • Proven ability to manage large value contracts and global supply bases while balancing cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Hawthorne, CA, and travel up to 15% as required.
