TL;DR · Global Supply Manager

The Global Supply Manager (Falcon/Dragon/Starfall) manages a specific commodity book end-to-end for Falcon and Dragon programs. This role involves owning the entire supply lifecycle, including strategy, source selection, contract negotiation, cost management, and ensuring continuity of supply from concept through end-of-life. The manager collaborates with engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to execute RFQ processes, manage purchase orders, and develop long-term agreements. Key responsibilities include building should-cost discipline, tracking KPIs like on-time delivery, and mentoring junior teammates. Candidates must possess expertise in technical procurement areas such as precision machining, raw materials, or welding. Required skills include advanced Excel proficiency, experience with ERP/MRP systems like SAP or Oracle, and strong negotiation abilities. The role addresses the challenge of maintaining a scalable production supply base for high-cadence aerospace hardware while managing complex risks and cost targets.

What you'll do

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies and supply agreements for assigned Falcon and Dragon commodities.
  • Manage end-to-end continuity of supply, including dual-sourcing, sub-tier risk mitigation, and delivery escalations.
  • Lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes to evaluate bids and secure contract awards from suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, capacity, and lead times while maintaining strict cost targets.
  • Build should-cost models and present cost reduction strategies to senior leadership.
  • Develop commodity roadmaps to align supplier capabilities with future production rates and design changes.
  • Define and report key performance indicators regarding coverage, on-time delivery, and supply risk.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between engineering and supply chain for new product introductions.

What we're looking for

  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
  • Must have an advanced degree and 4+ years experience, or a bachelor's degree and 6+ years experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering, purchasing, contract negotiation, planning, operations, supply chain management, or cost control.
  • Experience managing a domestic and international production supply base through rate (preferred).
  • Deep commodity experience in technical procurement such as precision machining, raw materials, or aerospace/automotive hardware (preferred).
  • Proven track record of owning a commodity book and negotiating preferred pricing while delivering cost and coverage results (preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to build complex analyses (preferred).
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or other high-rate manufacturing supply chains (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP purchasing systems like SAP or Oracle (preferred).
