The Global Supply Manager, Datacenter Switches and Optics (Starlink) manages end-to-end sourcing strategy, supplier management, and delivery for high-speed datacenter switches and optics ranging from 400G to 1.6T. Working within a fast-moving AI infrastructure program, the individual will partner with engineers and architects to define commodity roadmaps, establish approved vendor lists, and negotiate complex commercial agreements involving pricing, volume, and pre-production access. Key responsibilities include managing inventory, performing value engineering, and utilizing predictive analytics and AI-driven demand forecasting to mitigate supply chain risks. The role requires expertise in hardware procurement, networking architectures, ethernet switches, and optical transceivers. Candidates must possess strong negotiation skills and experience in hyperscale environments to navigate high-velocity production schedules while ensuring cost leadership and quality standards for training clusters within the complex datacenter infrastructure domain.
Define commodity strategies, multi-year technology roadmaps, and approved vendor lists for datacenter switches and optics.
Manage end-to-end global sourcing including supplier qualification, dual-sourcing strategies, and lead-time compression.
Negotiate high-impact commercial agreements covering pricing, volume, co-development commitments, and priority allocation during shortages.
Deploy predictive analytics and demand forecasting tools to mitigate geopolitical, capacity, and technology transition risks.
Drive cost leadership through value engineering, should-cost modeling, and long-term pricing agreements.
Lead supplier innovation programs for custom form factors, power-efficient designs, and higher-density optics.
Build a world-class supply base through strategic relationships and regular executive business reviews.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators for cost, quality, speed, and supply chain resilience.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience in business, supply chain, or engineering.
10+ years of experience in business, supply chain, or engineering is an acceptable alternative to the bachelor's degree requirement.
5+ years of experience in global supply chain, procurement, sourcing, or commodity management for hardware, semiconductors, networking, or datacenter infrastructure.
Technical understanding of datacenter networking architectures, ethernet switches, optical transceivers, and high-speed interconnects.
Experience working in fast-paced, high-growth technology, hyperscale environments, or with networking OEMs and semiconductor supply organizations.
Strong negotiation, analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee to meet ITAR requirements.
